What is Safemode?

To access safemode, go here:
This can also be accessed by selecting safe mode on the main Xanga page when you sign in.
Some tips for using Safemode
Safe mode shouldn't look like your site at all, if anything it looks like a whole bunch of boxes filled with html code, then on the side there should be links to each box with EDIT IT and DELETE IT. If you don't have this, then you are NOT in safemode.
Use Safe mode as a LAST RESORT to delete or edit any html code that might be harming your site. It is only recommended to use it if you can not access your site AT ALL. Otherwise, you can fix your site by other means, such as going to your Look and Feel settings ( http://www.xanga.com/CLAF/default.asp) and finding the bad code.
If you are having difficulty with logging into your site, think back to when your site started acting up, or the latest code you put into your site and find it in safemode. Most likely, the malicious code is hiding in your Look and Feel section.
Before you make any changes, it would be wise to copy the html code and hold on to it by pasting it into a Notepad document, or Text document. That way you have something to go back to, just in case.
Another tip is to change one thing at a time and see if you can access your site after making that one change. Making several changes at once, won't help you isolate the problem, although it is an option if you don't mind losing your other codes.
One note of caution though. All changes done in safemode is PERMANENT. Any entries you delete, to any code you delete, it will be gone and can not be recovered unless you made a copy for yourself. So be careful!
