Your clipboard is a short-term storage area for your information.

If you "Cut" or "Copy" something into your clipboard, it will hold it there in memory for you.  You can Cut or Copy all kinds of data, ranging from text, to images, to data (say, if you're using Microsoft Excel).

You can then "Paste" the information anywhere you want. This includes even into another software program!  The clipboard is designed to work across multiple applications.  So you can Copy something off of Microsoft Word, and Paste it right into your Xanga editor.
