  • Why can't I import my blogs to other websites?

    I downloaded my entries (they're in 10 .xml files) and I tried to import the files to Wordpress and Blogger.com which both are supported by Wordpress, but I don't know why it takes ages to import one file and it says uploading... and it never successfully turns to blog entries on these websites. I really want to have my all of my old xanga entries back :(
    Is it possible to keep all the entries in xanga.com/xanga.hk? (I come from Hong Kong btw!)
    I still want to write entries on xanga because I am not used to the layout of other blogging sites...

    Your blog posts for http://kabiikimkim.xanga.com/ are saved and available for a free download!

    You can download them by signing in here: http://xanga.com/wp-login.php

    When you have a copy of your blog posts on your own computer, you can do one of two things:

    1. Upload your archives to another site that's compatible with your blog archives.

    WordPress.com is one such free site... more information on how to import your archives into WP here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

    2. Upgrade your account to Xanga 2.0, and continue blogging on Xanga.
