• What happened to blogrings?

It's been a few months since I logged in, and now my blog is completely missing! I didnt receive any notification that Xanga would be making all these changes. I was trying to find someone I used to connect with through one of the blogring groups I was a part of, but I cant even access my own page. How do I bring my xanga back to the way it was? I dont have any of my posts anymore! Where are my blogring groups??

  • Hi there,

You can read more about the changes to Xanga here: http://thexangateam.xanga.com/. Unfortunately we no longer have blogrings. If you were subscribed to that account you should be able to log into your account and check out your "reading" or "following" tabs of your dashboard.

Your blog posts for http://arabianeyedprincess.xanga.com/ are saved and available for a free download!

You can download them by signing in here: http://xanga.com/wp-login.php

When you have a copy of your blog posts on your own computer, you can do one of two things:

    1. Upload your archives to another site that's compatible with your blog archives.

WordPress.com is one such free site... more information on how to import your archives into WP here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

    2. Upgrade your account to Xanga 2.0, and continue blogging on Xanga.
You can use PayPal (can also pay via credit card through this page) to purchase a one-year membership for Xanga 2.0: http://bit.ly/1dcERuj

If you choose this option please forward your Paypal confirmation email along with your username to help@xanga.net, we will get your site upgraded ASAP.

    Thanks,

  • I'm sorry, but this is total bullshit.

I always preferred old Xanga to new Tumblr. But now that you have to pay? Dudeā€¦..Get fucking real. That does not seem cool at all. So many people had memories built on their Xanga's.

  • @Indie_and_infinite-

You don't have to pay to get your archives. We provide them for free. But if you'd like to continue to use Xanga as your blogging platform we now have an annual subscription service.
