My diary, my life and documentation of my life is gone.
I have used my blog for years and it had my heart and soul in it.
I might not go on it as much as I used to but it was still everything to me.
About relationships, the pregnancy and birth of my child, my emotions and the comments that helped me seriously stay alive sometimes.
For me to not be a premium member, that means its just gone?
I couldn't be more upset and I didn't know I site could do this to someones personal blog
I never had a problem with xanga before today but I'm about to cry because knowing that just because I didn't pay for my site or "contributed in 2.0??" that I won't have access to my pictures and blog?I hope this gets fixed or I will no longer be a part of this site, for a site to have so little popularity you would think they would at least want to keep the people that they do have.
Ridiculous.

Hi awkward__girl, thank you for posting this. I think what they have done is deeply wrong. They are essentially holding our data hostage unless we pay a $48 fee. I have used this website for over ten years, and have had many different usernames, the equivalent, to me, of having many different notebooks, full of my memories and the documentation of my existence and my self and growth as a human being. I cannot afford to pay $48 for every one of my xanga accounts. I am interested in starting a change.org petition against xanga for doing this to their users. It's wrong. They should not 'own' our data and be allowed to hold it hostage and charge a fee. It's ridiculous.

They are not holding anyone's data hostage. If you read all the pretty words at xanga.com, it says they have backed up everyone's blogs and you can contact them to get a download. They also allowed people to download their own, since Xanga announced all these changes roughly 3.5 months ago.

@seebeewrite
How can we download our own, or contact them? I have been posting from a cell phone app for the past few months and was completely unaware of this software update! I actually just logged in to purchase Xanga Premium.

seebeewrite, the problem is that they did NOT inform everyone. Many, many people were in the dark. Why on earth would this information not have been posted on everyone's subscription page? It makes no sense.
Also, of all the questions asked in this forum, I see exactly 0 answers from Xanga itself. That also makes no sense. -
