John... I'm having the exact same problem so I'm adding my info here, too. I already did a Xanga help search and found this post. I've noticed that the problem is listed as unresolved. I hope someone has a solution soon.

Hi John - it's a slightly different issue but every time I have uploaded a photograph for a new weblog, it does not show up in my editor (the editor simply stays blue). I have tried to refresh it etc. but also none of my older uploaded photographs show up...

I have the same problem... I uploaded a bunch of photos using the Xanga Uploader, and they showed up fine initially, but when I went to use them, I just see that blue box with the frowny face. I uploaded at home which is ie8 and am at work using ie6. And half of them uploaded, the other half didn't.

If you're using IE 7 or IE8 and you're using the Batch Photo Upload page (http://upload.xanga.com/uploadphotos.aspx).

If your problem is that you don't see a big orange button in the middle of the page that says "Click Here to Choose Photos", can you please try clearing your browser cache or do this in your IE:

Hold the Ctrl key, and press F5

Does the big orange button appear now? And are you able to choose and upload photos?

I'm having problems with photos too, most of the ones on the side of my page have a red dot or symbol for "link broken", even though they are all part of my xanga photo albums.This only happened within the last few days after being on xanga since 2003. I'm using Mozilla Firefox browser.

# 1 and 2 are fixed for me. I guess I'll just deal with the Xanga uploader. its no problem. thanks!!!

I'm still experiencing problems with Issue #1. Once the pics are uploaded I am unable to edit them. They disappear. The sidebar with the albums only shows the words "listed" in grey. There are no titles or album cover pics showing. When I move the cursor over the pics it goes blank.

I've been having this problem for months. I've been off Xanga for a while, knowing that m y old blogs and HUGE amount of old pictures were safe here and secure and now - in photo manager, I see the icons, and when I hover over them they vanish and I can't open any of them up. 90% of my old posts associated with those pictures show X place holders and not the pictures. My site was a VERY special place for me, I've been with Xanga 8 years or so and would appreciate this being resolved - I don't have copies of the very unique artwork I had made specifically for my xanga site.

Please advise (p.s. this is a probem on more than one of my profiles)

Yeah, I don't know if I have to keep this topic alive but I'll keep posting until the problem is resolved.

I tried to pinpoint exactly when I first noticed this problem and I'm pretty sure that it happened the day of the last Xanga Maintenance on August 17th or so. Ever since Xanga did the server maintenance I've been having problems with the Photo Manager.

I'm using IE8 if that means anything.

i was gonna resolve this but ended up not knowing how to...and i know others are still having problems so i'll just keep it open. i will make a new post for my xanga uploader though.

It has now been two months and the problem has not been fixed. Is there anyone working on this problem?

i have the newest version of firefox and everything works fine...
