Please… I’m going to cry… I didn’t read all you had said about this, this has just been my diary for the past seven years… and it’s gone.
You sent me an “archive” but it’s just gibberish to me. I have no idea how to access it. If I had known that xanga 2.0 was going to mean my blog disappeared, I would have paid more attention… I thought you were just revamping your outer site, but leaving our blogs alone. If the changes were going to be this drastic, you should have sent out messages to everyone’s xanga so I could have at least saved my information.
Please tell me how to access my old entries. Please. The reason I kept them here was because I thought I could count on you all to keep them safe. These are very important to me, and contain a lot of story notations.
This isn't an answer, this is a "seconded"

the file you downloaded was probably an xml file. So, when you log in, go to your Dashboard and go to Tools at the left and then choose 'import' and you should be able to import the xml file you received. That should give you your posts :)

@Harleysparrow- Once you have a copy of your blog posts on your own computer, you can do one of two things:
1. Upload your archives to another site that's compatible with your blog archives.
WordPress.com is one such free site... more information on how to import your archives into WP here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/
2. Upgrade your account to Xanga 2.0, and stay on Xanga.
You can do that here, if you'd like:
