How do I download an archive of my old blog?
I've found instructions across the internet, but it looks like the option has been removed. Is it too late?
Thanks for your help!

Hello! I just checked out your site, and noticed that your blog didn't meet the criteria we had for generating a blog archive: http://thibault.xanga.com/.
That said, we still have the original hard drives with old blogs on them and are looking into plugging them in and generating new archives for older blogs like yours.
No need to do anything. Thanks for your patience as we work on migrating over more archives!
Also, in the meantime one of my programmers said that you might want to see if http://archive.org captured your site. All you have to do is type in the blog address in the Wayback Machine portion.

I am also very interested in having a copy of my archives. Please let me know if any progress has been made in accessing more archives.

Agreed!

PLEASE do this. I would like my old data.

Can I please have access to my old blog entries? I'd be crushed if I lost them forever.

I too would like to have access to my old blogs if possible. I think I missed the time window.
I was only able to view one of the pages on archive.org....ahh at least it brought back some memories. -
I was away overseas due to be a member of the Army and just returned recently. I want to share my blog with my 7 year old daughter. I am a single parent and there are pictures and entries I wrote about my Daughter's mother while she was still alive. I will be crushed if my old blog is completely lost and I cannot share these things with my child. Please make this available to me so I can download the content and share it with my child. Thank you.

Where is my blog?? I was so sassy as a 7th grader. I need it back!

I would really love to have the old poems I composed on here as a teenager. I don't think I fit the criteria however... What do I do?

I would like to know if there is a way to access my old posts as well. There are four xml files that I got from the archives, but I am pretty sure I posted more than four times. I'm pretty sure there's not much of quality on the posts and I understand if they are gone forever.

Nevermind, it worked. Thanks

Hi Eugenia,
I had no idea about the changes that had happened with Xanga, as I never received any notification. I'd really like to have an archive copy of my old blogs, are they gone forever?
-
It is extremely disappointing to see what you guys have done with people's personal information that they trusted you with. Why in the world would you just delete our blog posts? How do I access my old blogs? Your customer service is terrible...what is the hold on with the migration? I see no reason why we can't log in and see our old posts. I'd really like to access my old information as soon as possible.

I too would like access to my old blog. It was fun for me to look back on what happened in my life and I'm very disappointed to know that there was no information sent out to the owners regarding this change.

@Eugenia what about mine. WildAngel047

@eugenia could I also get an archive please????

I WANT TO SEE MY PAST PLEASE

Hi can you check my blog as well? My blog is blank and I do not have a link in my dashboard for archived files. BraveBelle @ http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=BraveBelle
I missed the migration as well, and did not know of the changes. I have not logged in for a while, but I still had this page linked for others to view as a memory page and was hoping to continue using the blog in the future. Please let me know what can be done, if anything.
Thanks!

I would like copies of mine as well.
my usernames were oubaby1390
and i think maybe inuyashafreak1390 -
In order to try the archived elsewhere option, it would be helpful if someone could post an example of what the old address prefixes would have looked like, and where the username would have been...anyone?
I would assume it probably started with something like http:\\xanga.something or other... but in order to try the archive option I would need an accurate template to find my blog, wouldn't I? -
Ahhh, wait, I will have to wait until they deign to cater to us nobodies... my blog was set to private. >:-|

I would also like access to my old posts. Any word when they will have this backed up so we can download them?
-
Funny how this was said 2 years ago:
"That said, we still have the original hard drives with old blogs on them and are looking into plugging them in and generating new archives for older blogs like yours.
No need to do anything. Thanks for your patience as we work on migrating over more archives!"
Still nothing has been done.
-
So, still no way to download the archives?
-
Also wondering, it's really important to me to recover my old archives. Hoping someone has uploaded them somewhere.
-
i really could use my old archive back its sums up some important things in my life
-
I would like my old posts back

I cannot find my old blog posts! :( ssguitarplayer08.

OK, I have discovered that you can still download the archive - but you have to log in first. If you've forgotten or cannot guess your password, you may be out of luck.
Once you log in, next to the Xanga logo on the upper left, there is "My Sites" hover over that. A drop-down menu appears. Select "Dashboard" and there should be an option to download your archive of posts. It will be in a zip file.
Your photos can be recovered by selecting "Xanga Photos" on the left.

I have been waiting for 2 years for something to happen here. I believe it is gone, all of it. This is something I would do anything to have back right now.
-
Agree. I was a rare poster, but the content I put up was at transitional times of my life that I stupidly assumed would be available for me (and others) to view when the moment comes. One such moment has come for me and my family and I would love to blog about it if I had shone assurance that a new blog wouldn't get wiped for twin years going on now.
-
I would like my blog entries if possible but can't figure out how to access them
-
Hi there, not sure what to do after having downloaded the Zip file from the Archive on the left... Is there a simple way to do this? Seems complicated and time consuming. Xanga why not leave the original site up as is for everyone to access their blogs anyway? And just create a new portal for the updated version. Seems so cumbersome this way. Boo.

-

-
hi Xanga, thanks for providing the service and your effort. I'm able to log in with my old account credentials but seems like my entries are gone. would really appreciate access to my old blog as it contains memories of my late father..thank you!
-
Hi Xanga - is it too late to retrieve all my old archives?
Thanks so much!!

Came here in hopes of reading my old blogs, just to see this site failed. Why not let us just use the old site we loved so we can all not be sitting here bitching to Y'all?
-
So sad that I was able to get in but all my posts are gone. Also sad to read so many other people are having the same issue. We all would just love to be able to look back at old memories. At this point seeing how long people have been waiting and trying to get them back, it saddens me that it will more than likely never happen.
-
I'm assuming there's no hope of recovering posts from my old account if there's not archive option once I log in? If so, let me know.
-
i want back my data
