    Children under 13 are not allowed to register for Xanga accounts. If you are the Parent or Legal Guardian of a child under 13 who has become a Xanga member, please follow the following instructions:

    IF YOU KNOW YOUR CHILD'S USERNAME AND PASSWORD

    We've built a feature that lets you shut down the account yourself right away. You can access it here (make sure you have your child's username and password handy since you'll have to sign in to shut it down):

    * http://premium.xanga.com/private/sitestatus.aspx

    You will be prompted to sign in again (for extra security), followed by a final confirmation page. Click "Yes - Shut Down site" to shut down your child's site.

    IF YOU DO NOT KNOW YOUR CHILD'S USERNAME AND PASSWORD

    If you do not know your child's username and/or password, we highly recommend you start by talking with your child. But before you do, you may want to read this introduction to blogging and social networking, written by the head of Wired Safety (a leading online safety group):

    If your child won't share their password, we have developed a formal process for a Parental Request to Delete Child Information. Please fill out and mail/fax this form to us, and we will process the request within two business days:
