Fake password request?
Hi, I got a weird email that suggests that I asked for my Xanga password, but I never requested it. I tried to go to the website embedded in the email so I could report it, but this link doesn't work: http://help.xanga.com/passwordemail.htm
Below is the text that was in the body of the email. It doesn't even make sense, because I don't have more than one Xanga account. I suspect some kind of weird spamming tool is trying to hijack my Xanga account:
Your Xanga username is luckyme To reset your password, please click here: http://www.xanga.com/PasswordReset.aspx?X=B2400F1BDAEB4351A1F89A1271A5299F8178565 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS One of my Xanga sites isn't showing above?! Where did it go? http://help.xanga.com/oneofmyxangasitesnotshowing.htm Why are you sending a link to reset my password, instead of my password itself? http://help.xanga.com/whysendingpasswordlink.htm Why am I getting this email? I didn't request it! http://help.xanga.com/passwordemail.htm This password reset request was made from IP address 209.234.150.11
Hope you can get to the bottom of this - thanks!
