Can't upload xml files
I was trying to import my xanga entries to the wordpress and downladed all xml files from my xanga. I went to to the "Import" > "Xanga" function of wordpress and attached one of the xml files to the website and pressed "Uploaded file and import" but it appeared "The file is not an xml file. Please see instructions for downloading and using the Xanga backup file."
What should i do?

Once you have a copy of your blog posts on your own computer, you can do one of two things:
1. Upload your archives to another site that's compatible with your blog archives.
WordPress.com is one such free site... more information on how to import your archives into WP here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/
2. Upgrade your account to Xanga 2.0, and stay on Xanga.
You can do that here, if you'd like:

The answer you're giving is irrelevant because IT DOES NOT WORK when you try to upload the xml files to Wordpress. There is an error message saying that they are not xml files even though they clearly are. Is this a Wordpress issue or a Xanga issue?

You can read your old posts if you open the xml files with WordPad or similar. There will be lots of formatting code throughout, but if you just want to read your old stuff, this works.
