• can you revive my blog?

I'm not sure I meet the criteria, but there was some stuff on my blog that I'd really hate to lose. I hope you can find it. Thanks.

  • Hello bdholsinger! Like you mentioned, you didn't meet the criteria we had for generating a blog archive:
    http://bdholsinger.xanga.com/

That said, we still have the original hard drives with old blogs on them and are looking into plugging them in and generating new archives for older blogs like yours.

Let us know if you're interested!

  • Yes, I'm interested. Is there anything I need to do for this to happen?
    Thank you for your help.

  • I still want to revive my blog if there's anyway to do it. I'm just writing to keep some energy in it now. I hope you all can get caught up if that's the problem.
    Thanks,
    Bdholsinger

  • Hi there,

We're planning on migrating more archives to the Xanga 2.0 platform within the next few weeks. Hope to have more information for you soon.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Bdholsinger,

When your archives have migrated over to the new platform the message on your frontpage (http://bdholsinger.xanga.com/) will change to show instructions on how you can download your archives and/or upgrade your account.

    Thanks for your patience!

  • I'm beyond devastated about this. I had 2 accounts, I was with Xanga from the very start, when every single user knew every single user, because it was just starting out. I spent 10 years off and on Xanga, but the majority of my posts were from 2005 and back and those were enormously important posts. My life was in those posts, my poetry, my writing, my entire heart and all 3 of my accounts did NOT have full archives.

    BrooklynHeart / PlanetDream / Mugzee

Additionally 99.99999999% of all my pictures stored are gone as well. I knew John when the site just opened - wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before there were countless users and I would address him as a friend ... then Xanga exploded and became bigger and bigger and having a one on one with John became impossible, but it didn't matter, what he had created was the most unique and most wonderful place on the Internet. In 2006 I kind of lost my muse so to speak, a lot of bad things happened over the past 7-8 years of my life, horrific things, heart breaking things and at the time that Xanga was apparently letting users knows what was going on (btw - an EMAIL to all of the old Xanga users would have been nice), in the Summer of 2013, my mother was paralyzed and suffering in incomprehensible pain and fear, and she passed in November 2013. I had NO WAY of knowing what was happening or that I needed to immediately save all of my old writings/posts, original artwork (and there were COUNTLESS) and only saved on Xanga's site and now my archives are obviously missing ALL of the artwork, none of the skins I made, which were beautiful graphic art skins that I put my heart into are in my photo manager and as I said, on all 3 of my sites, one which eventually became a memorial site for my life long friend who died, are GONE.

A near decade of my life, all on Xanga, GONE. Why weren't there emails sent out to the original users, to EVERY user who had an email address connected to their account, which ALL did, it was a requirement.

I'd like some answers, I'd like to know what happened to ALL of my pictures, graphic art and skins - as well as ALL of my posts, YEARS worth, and if there is any chance of you guys getting them to me (be honest - I'd rather have my heart fall while hearing no - than be told yes and it not be true).

All 3 of my accounts are linked to the same email address - it's either BrooklynHeart@aol.com and/or KimberlyRoad@aol.com.

Once again - My Three Sites Are:

    BrooklynHeart / Mugzee / PlanetDream

I can't believe John would do this without emailing out to every single user about what was going on, giving everyone, especially their original users who poured their heart and soul out on Xanga the heads up and allowing them to save their posts and pictures.

Very upset. Please EMAIL me a response - coming here to check for answers seems futile. I will wait for an email at either one of those email addresses provided above.

    Kimberly
