This is usually due to one of three issues:
- FANCY HTML
- A LONG WORD WITHOUT A LINE BREAK
- A WIDE PICTURE
FANCY HTML
Sometimes, some fancy HTML formatting can accidentally make a post wider.
This is especially common when:
* Writing is done in Microsoft Word
* HTML is cut and pasted from another website
The solution in both cases is to edit the post, and strip out any of the fancy HTML. You can do that by clicking on the "Edit It" link after the post, and clicking on the "Edit HTML" link.
A LONG WORD WITHOUT A LINE BREAK
Sometimes, a long word will make its way into a post, like:
hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
If that word is wider than the width of the visitors' screen, than it may cause the page to scroll. The solution here is to shorten the long word - perhaps add a paragraph break or two? Also, note that it may not even be a word either - it could be a series of SPACEs that's causing you this issue. To see if that's true, just highlight ALL the text on your page and then see if there are any long blocks of spaces together. If there are, delete the blocks of spaces.
A WIDE PICTURE
Sometimes, a picture will be wider than the width of the page - causing a problem similar to having a long word.
The solution here is to resize your picture:
