The pic you choose in the Weblog Editor appears on the *individual entry page* for that entry (if you have comments enabled, it's the page where people can leave comments).

After you submit your entry, click the little timestamp under the entry to get to its individual entry page... you should see the profile pic you chose in the little "About this Entry" box on that page.
