It looks like the link might not have had the http:// right before the address. For example, if we linked to www.xanga.com, it would trigger a bug error message. But if we linked to http://www.xanga.com, the link would work nicely!

Other possibilities is that there is a repeat in the http:// which happens when cutting and pasting addresses.
