This sometimes happens when a Subscription is "hidden".  See: How do I prevent a Subscription from showing up on my Subscriptions list?

If you don't remember making a subscription private, then usually your "Default Subscription Settings" have been set to automatically hide any new subscriptions.  When you start a new subscription, it'll automatically have the default settings you put in the "Default Subscription Settings".
