Why doesn’t Xanga use the font I specified when I visit my page?
Like all websites, Xanga doesn’t actually store any fonts on its servers. For one thing, most font files are very large, and it’s not practical to download a 1 MB file just to read a site that specifies the BellBottom.Laser font.
Here’s how it works. Fonts are stored on each user’s computer. You can specify a font to be used on your site, but that doesn’t guarantee that your readers will have that font installed on their computers. For that reason, we recommend using common fonts like Arial, Helvetica, or Times – the basic fonts with which most computers come installed.
Feel free to use any font you like, just remember that unusual fonts won’t be displayed properly for most of your visitors. If you specify text be displayed in a particular font that is not on a visitor's computer, the text will be displayed using the default font specified by your page, skin, or browser.
