How do I add a Flash animation to my header?
Please only attempt this if you are comfortable with both HTML and Flash!!!
Adding a Flash Banner is a complicated four-step process:
- First, make sure that your flash file is uploaded to a website
- Get the address of your flash file on the web
- Generate the HTML snippet using your Flash program
- Finally, add a code linking to your flash file to your Look and Feel (in the Header section)
We'll walk through each step separately:
1. First, make sure that your flash file is uploaded to a website
Xanga doesn't host flash files... so you'll have to upload them to another server :-(.
2. Get the address of your image on the web
Once you've uploaded your flash file, make sure to get the address of the flash file. It might look something like this:
3. Generate the HTML snippet using your Flash program
Finally, go back into your Flash program and generate publish your movie to create the HTML snippet you'll need to put into your Xanga header. It may look something like this:
4. Finally, add a code linking to your image to your Look and Feel (in the Header section)
Now go to the Header section of your Look and Feel:
See the big field labeled "Input your Own HTML"?
Paste the code you've generated into that big field. Now just click on "Save Changes", and your flash header should appear!
