What can I try to fix my rich-text editor?
There are several possibilties why rich-text may not be working on your computer. Most likely there is a program interfering with the rich text editor, or the browser that you are using is outdated. Please try these solutions to help fix rich text editing.
Solution 1:
Update your Javascript:

Solution 2:
Open Internet Explorer
Select TOOLS in the file menu
Select INTERNET OPTIONS
Click on the SECURITY tab
Click the CUSTOM LEVEL button near the bottom of the window
A window named SECURITY SETTINGS will appear. Scroll down in the top of the window until you see the category "Scripting".
Look for the sub-category "Active scripting".
There are three radio buttons here. Select the ENABLE radio button.
Click the OK button at the bottom of the SECURITY SETTINGS window.
Click OK in the INTERNET OPTIONS window.
Solution 3:
Open up your Internet Home Page/browser
Go to TOOLS
Go to INTERNET OPTIONS
Go to ADVANCED TAB
Then "Un-Check" the box in front of "ENABLE THIRD-PARTY BROWSER EXTENSIONS"
Solution 4:
When all else fails - reinstall your browser, and make sure you don't have any spyware on your computer:
