I don't see a place to type on my Weblog Editor... where did it go?
This happens when your browser is trying to use Xanga Premium's “Rich Text” Editor, but your browser’s security settings are too high to allow it.
There are two ways of fixing this problem.
- To make Xanga Premium’s “Rich Text” editor work properly, here's what you need to do in the latest version of Internet Explorer on a Windows PC (older versions of Windows IE or Mac IE browsers may vary slightly):
- Open Internet Explorer
- Select TOOLS in the file menu
- Select INTERNET OPTIONS
- Click on the SECURITY tab
- Click the CUSTOM LEVEL button near the bottom of the window
- A window named SECURITY SETTINGS will appear. Scroll down in the top of the window until you see the category "Scripting".
- Look for the sub-category "Active scripting".
- There are three radio buttons here. Select the ENABLE radio button.
- Click the OK button at the bottom of the SECURITY SETTINGS window.
- Click OK in the INTERNET OPTIONS window.
Your problem is fixed! Try opening another Weblog Editor window and trying again.
- Alternatively, you can retain your high browser security settings and just use Xanga’s “plain text” editor. To do this, visit the following link while signed in:
http://edit.xanga.com/editeditorsetting.aspx
Unclick the EDIT MODE checkbox so it won’t “use ‘rich text’ edit mode”. Now, your Weblog Editor will use “plain text” mode, which works even with high browser security settings.
